As transplants from Michigan, we had always heard “everything is bigger in Texas”. While that is true for a lot of things, it does not hold true for the size of the yards that come with the houses! In Michigan, our dog had plenty of room to run around our large yard, and there wasn’t as big of a need to always take him for a walk or to a dog park. Heck, we had never even been to a dog park prior to moving to Texas!
We also noticed there were not a lot of options when it came to dog day care or boarding in the Argyle/North Lake area. We were lucky enough to have an awesome cage free daycare in Michigan that completely tired out our dog once a week and guaranteed dob boarding. Missing that importance piece of dog daycare, cage free exercise, and guaranteed dog boarding, we decided to start Puppy Playground.
Of course we needed to have some land for the dogs to get a lot of exercise, so after searching for months, we found a perfect location in Decatur, TX. It provides plenty of room for us to break the area in to different “play grounds”, has a fantastic barn that will provide relief from the heat in the summer or the one off rainy days, and we put in a pool for our guests to swim in during the hot Texas summer.
We have truly created a dog resort that our customers absolutely love! We are well worth the drive from the Argyle/North Lake area to utilize our services.
